Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol offers a balance of modern executive comfort and proven GCC off-road heritage. The SE Platinum City trim is the highest tier available for the V6 powertrain, providing a luxurious cabin experience that rivals the V8 models without the same daily fuel footprint. Black is a perennially strong resale color in the regional used market, ensuring this SUV remains a liquid asset for years to come. For buyers navigating both daily urban traffic and long-distance desert drives, this model delivers the size and stature of the 'Hero of All Terrains' with updated technology. Its combination of a refined interior and legendary durability makes it the quintessential choice for families across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

With 73,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been actively driven, reflecting the typical high-mileage lifestyle of GCC highway commuters who utilize their SUVs for long-distance travel between emirates. This mileage is slightly above the regional annual average of 25,000 km, yet the vehicle's black exterior remains a premier choice for maintaining strong resale value in the local market. For a 2024 model, it represents a modern entry into the final production years of the Y62 generation, benefiting from all the late-cycle refinements and updated infotainment tech.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City trim marks a significant step up from the SE Titanium, adding a 3D Around View Monitor and a high-fidelity 13-speaker Bose audio system. Inside, you benefit from genuine quilted leather upholstery and climate-controlled front seats that are ventilated for summer comfort—a feature rarely standard on mid-tier variants. It also includes 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a head-up display, giving the V6 powertrain the same premium aesthetic and technology suite found in the range-topping V8 models.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 (4.0L) and the Ford Expedition in fuel capacity, featuring a massive 140-litre tank that is essential for long-range desert crossings and cross-border drives. Its independent double-wishbone suspension provides a more composed highway ride than body-on-frame competitors that lack similar chassis refinement. Furthermore, the Patrol offers a genuinely usable eight-seat configuration, providing more third-row shoulder room than many other SUVs in the full-size segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically ranges between 13–15 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, offering a noticeable efficiency advantage over the V8 in stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Patrol retains its value exceptionally well, with a depreciation rate of approximately 8–10% annually, outperforming most European and American rivals in the regional used market. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it carries full compatibility with local service centers and maintains the highest level of buyer trust.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 produces 275 HP and 394 Nm of torque, delivering a top speed of approximately 200 km/h. While tuned for smooth city cruising and highway stability, it retains a low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes (Sand, On-road, Rock, Snow) that allow it to navigate demanding desert dunes with confidence. The All-Wheel Drive system is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, optimized for long-distance cruising efficiency and steady power delivery. With a minimum ground clearance of 244 mm, it handles rocky wadis and high-speed highway travel with equal poise.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is engineered for the extreme GCC climate, featuring a powerful three-zone climate control system with dedicated rear cooling vents to ensure all eight passengers stay cool in 45°C+ heat. Front occupants enjoy heated and ventilated seats, while the quilted leather finish and acoustic glass provide a quiet, insulated environment away from road noise and desert heat. The 13-speaker Bose sound system and large infotainment screen with smartphone mirroring transform long family road trips into a premium lounge experience. A cooled center console box is standard, keeping beverages chilled during extended summer drives.

Safety

The SE Platinum City comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection. For the fast-moving highways of the UAE, the standard Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Warning systems provide critical assistance during high-speed lane changes. The 360° Around View Monitor with moving object detection makes parking this large SUV in tight city spaces effortless, while multiple airbags and high-tensile steel construction ensure maximum protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

This 2024 Patrol SE Platinum City is the ideal choice for a family looking for maximum luxury and regional reliability without the fuel overhead of a V8. It is a highly liquid asset in a high-demand color, ready for both professional commuting and weekend adventures.
