Summary

This 2023 Nissan X-Terra Platinum represents an exceptional middle ground for GCC families who need a genuine 4x4 without the footprint of a full-size Patrol. With mileage well under the regional annual average and finished in silver for optimal heat reflection and resale value, it remains in its prime mechanical window. The body-on-frame construction ensures durability across the varied terrains of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, while the 7-seat configuration makes it a versatile daily driver. As a Platinum trim, it delivers the high-specification interior often demanded in the local market, making it a competitive alternative to road-biased crossovers. For the regional buyer, this is a reliable, high-trim workhorse with a proven track record for longevity in extreme heat.

This Car vs Other 2023 X-Terras

At 33,065 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 50,000 km expected for a two-year-old car in the GCC. The silver exterior is one of the top three most requested colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, directly supporting higher value retention at the next sale. Being a GCC-spec model, it retains full compatibility with regional service centers and has been factory-calibrated for high-ambient temperature performance.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the X-Terra with 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a larger 9-inch touchscreen featuring navigation and wireless smartphone integration. Unlike the Titanium or SE trims, the Platinum includes a premium leather-appointed interior with power-adjustable seats and the comprehensive Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. GCC buyers will particularly value the 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor, which is a significant upgrade over the standard rear-view cameras found on lower models.

X-Terra vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Fortuner, the X-Terra offers a more modern interior layout and a 78-liter fuel tank that provides substantial range for cross-border drives between Dubai and Riyadh. While rivals like the Mitsubishi Montero Sport offer similar seating, the X-Terra leads with its focus on highway refinement and cabin quietness. Its dedicated rear cooling system with independent controls is specifically engineered to handle the 45-degree summers common in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 2.5-liter engine averages approximately 11.4 km/L, providing a balanced cost profile for both city commutes and long desert highway stretches. Nissan's massive service footprint across every GCC nation ensures that maintenance is affordable and parts are readily available from Salwa Road to Sheikh Zayed Road. The X-Terra historically holds its value better than European rivals, typically depreciating at a stable 8-10% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 165 hp engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth power delivery on high-speed arterial roads. With 243 mm of ground clearance and a selectable 4WD system with a locking differential, it is fully capable of handling weekend excursions into the dunes or rocky wadis. The 32.3-degree approach angle ensures it can tackle steep inclines without bumper damage, a key consideration for off-road enthusiasts in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat cabin is designed with 'Zero Gravity' seats that reduce fatigue during long inter-emirate journeys. A powerful dual-zone climate control system is supplemented by dedicated ceiling-mounted vents for both the second and third rows, ensuring rapid cooling for all passengers. The Platinum trim further enhances the experience with acoustic glass to minimize road noise and a wireless charging pad for modern connectivity.

Safety

The Platinum trim comes standard with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, featuring Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking to assist in fast-moving highway traffic. Additional features include Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating multi-lane roads in major GCC cities. Six airbags and a reinforced body-on-frame structure provide high levels of passive protection for the entire family.

The bottom line

This low-mileage Platinum trim is the ideal choice for a GCC resident seeking a high-spec family SUV that can handle both the school run and the desert with equal ease.
