Summary

This 2024 Defender 110 HSE P400 represents a high-specification opportunity in the GCC market, combining a potent 400 hp mild-hybrid powertrain with the convenience of a seven-seat configuration. With just over 30,000 km, this unit sits below the average annual mileage for a premium SUV in the region, ensuring plenty of life in its factory coverage. The HSE trim is a significant step up, offering the essential cabin ventilation and premium materials required for comfortable year-round driving in the Emirates. As a modern icon with a strong following, it balances off-road dominance with the refinement needed for a professional daily driver. For the GCC buyer, this specific spec offers the perfect middle ground between the entry-level four-cylinder models and the high-maintenance V8 flagships.

This Car vs Other 2024 Defender 110s

At 30,073 km, this Defender has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km per year average seen in the GCC. The Gold exterior is a distinctive choice that stands out from the common white and silver fleet, while maintaining a premium feel that holds value well in the UAE and Saudi markets. Being a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest Pivi Pro software updates and remains well within its initial service and warranty windows.

HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim adds critical GCC comforts over the SE, most notably the ventilated Windsor leather front seats and a more powerful Meridian Surround Sound System. While lower trims often stick to the P300 four-cylinder engine, the P400's six-cylinder mild-hybrid system provides the necessary torque for effortless highway overtaking and sand cruising. You also gain the 3D Surround Camera system as standard, which is indispensable for navigating tight urban parking and off-road obstacles.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender leads its primary rivals, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and the Mercedes G-Class, by offering a more sophisticated monocoque chassis that provides superior on-road handling without sacrificing its 900 mm wading depth. Its Terrain Response 2 system is more intuitive for casual desert drivers than the manual lockers found in the Jeep Wrangler, making it the preferred luxury all-rounder. Additionally, the 11.4-inch Pivi Pro interface is widely considered faster and more user-friendly than the infotainment found in many German competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The P400 mild-hybrid engine averages approximately 12.8L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size during long-distance highway hauls between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring maintenance is never a logistical hurdle. The Defender 110 continues to be one of the strongest value-retention vehicles in the GCC, typically losing only 10-12% in its first two years compared to the steeper 18% seen in other European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L turbocharged inline-six delivers 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 6.1 seconds. Its electronic air suspension can raise the vehicle to provide a maximum ground clearance of 291 mm, allowing it to clear dunes and rocky tracks that would challenge most family SUVs. The twin-speed transfer box provides the low-range gearing essential for technical desert driving and heavy towing up to 3,720 kg.

Comfort & Cabin

The three-row, seven-seat layout is highly versatile for larger families, with dedicated climate control vents for rear passengers to combat the summer heat. High-quality Windsor leather and a panoramic glass roof create a bright, premium atmosphere, while the refrigerated center console keeps drinks cold during long desert trips. Acoustic glass significantly reduces wind noise, making the cabin a quiet sanctuary during high-speed highway commutes.

Safety

This Defender is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Adaptive Cruise Control for effortless highway driving and a 3D Surround Camera with ClearSight Ground View to see 'through' the hood. Active safety features like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Rear Traffic Monitor are standard on the HSE trim, providing essential protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The vehicle also carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, ensuring top-tier structural protection for all seven occupants.

The bottom line

This is an ideal choice for the family-oriented adventurer who wants a nearly-new, high-spec 4x4 with lower-than-average mileage and a full set of luxury features ready for the GCC summer.
