• Low-range transfer case with locking differentials
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser EXR offers a compelling balance of modern twin-turbo power and legendary off-road hardware. With 91,000 km, the mileage is higher than average for a one-year-old vehicle in the GCC, but for a Land Cruiser, it's just the beginning of a very long service life. The white exterior is the region's top choice for heat management and maintains the strongest resale profile in the pre-owned market. As the entry point to the 3.5L twin-turbo range, the EXR provides the same flagship 409 hp output as the top trims, making it a strategic buy for those prioritizing performance over unnecessary cabin garnish. Owning a Land Cruiser in the GCC remains one of the safest automotive investments thanks to a service network that spans every corner of the region.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

While typical GCC annual mileage is around 25,000 km, this vehicle has covered 91,000 km in its first year, likely due to long-distance highway commutes across the Emirates. This usage pattern often keeps mechanical components at optimal operating temperatures compared to stop-start city driving. The white exterior is a major advantage for local resale, ensuring it remains the most liquid asset in the SUV segment.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the gateway to the 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6, providing a massive 138 hp leap over the naturally aspirated 4.0L base models. While it retains durable fabric seating, it includes essential GCC features like tri-zone climate control and Apple CarPlay, focusing the investment on the superior 10-speed transmission and flagship powertrain rather than aesthetic add-ons.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads with its modern twin-turbo torque delivery and superior fuel capacity, featuring a dual-tank system totaling 110 liters for extended desert range. Its TNGA-F ladder-frame chassis provides a more rigid foundation for heavy-duty off-roading than monocoque-based European rivals, ensuring it survives extreme heat and rocky terrain better over a decade of use.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L twin-turbo averages approximately 12.1 L/100km, which is significantly more efficient than the previous generation's V8 during long highway cruises. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km at authorized centers like Al-Futtaim, with a vast parts network making maintenance straightforward across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Historically, the Land Cruiser retains roughly 80-85% of its value after three years in the GCC, representing the lowest depreciation rate in the full-size SUV class.

Performance & Capability

The 409 hp twin-turbo V6 delivers 650 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 6.8 seconds—remarkable for a vehicle of this size. It features a genuine low-range transfer case, 235 mm of ground clearance, and a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, making it as capable of hauling a large boat as it is at crossing the Liwa dunes. The 10-speed automatic transmission ensures power is always available, whether overtaking on the E11 or navigating deep sand.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed for the harsh GCC summer, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all three rows stay cool in 45°C+ heat. This EXR trim balances utility and tech with a 9-inch infotainment screen, power-adjustable driver's seat, and excellent acoustic insulation to keep highway wind noise at bay during long trans-emirate drives. The flat-folding rear seats provide versatile cargo space for family road trips or camping gear.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes a comprehensive suite of airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Traction Control tailored for both asphalt and loose sand. It also features Crawl Control and Downhill Assist Control, which act as an electronic safety net during technical off-road descents. The inclusion of front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera makes navigating tight city parking in Dubai or Riyadh far more manageable.

The bottom line

This Land Cruiser is the ideal choice for a high-mileage commuter or desert enthusiast who wants the flagship 3.5T performance without the premium price tag of a VXR. It represents a bulletproof regional investment with the best possible color for GCC resale.
