Summary

This 2026 Leopard 5 ULTRA represents the pinnacle of the new DMO super-hybrid platform, offering a rare blend of supercar acceleration and genuine off-road hardware. As a new vehicle with zero kilometers, it provides a unique opportunity to own the latest hybrid technology without the typical delivery lead times. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the GCC, ensuring strong resale liquidity compared to more niche launch colors. For the UAE buyer, this model provides the ability to handle the daily Sheikh Zayed Road commute on pure electric power while remaining ready for long-distance desert expeditions. It stands out in the growing high-end Chinese hybrid segment by offering a body-on-frame construction that traditional luxury crossovers cannot match.

This Car vs Other 2026 Leopard 5s

With zero kilometers on the odometer, this vehicle sits at the absolute lowest mileage point available in the GCC used market for its year. While many 2026 models in the region will quickly accumulate mileage on long inter-city highways, this car offers a fresh mechanical start. The black-on-black configuration is widely considered the safest and most liquid color choice for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets.

ULTRA vs Lower Trims

The ULTRA trim is distinguished by the inclusion of the DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control system, which allows for active ride height adjustment—a critical feature for transitioning from high-speed highway stability to deep sand clearance. It further upgrades the cabin experience over the Navigator and Explorer trims with Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated and massaging seats, and a dedicated 12.3-inch passenger entertainment display.

Leopard 5 vs Segment Rivals

The Leopard 5 leads rivals like the Land Cruiser Prado and Tank 500 in raw performance, utilizing its dual-motor hybrid setup to deliver nearly double the horsepower of traditional competitors. Its 83-liter fuel tank, paired with a high-capacity battery, provides a combined range of 1,200 km, significantly reducing fuel stops on long-distance drives across the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world hybrid efficiency averages roughly 7.8 L/100km, offering a substantial cost advantage over traditional V6 off-roaders in stop-start Dubai traffic. As a Chinese-spec vehicle, it utilizes the GB/T charging standard, which is well-supported by a growing network of specialized service centers across the UAE. While initial depreciation for new-energy brands is steeper than Japanese marques, the ULTRA trim's high specification helps maintain a stronger value floor at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

A 4.8-second 0-100 km/h time allows for effortless highway overtaking, placing it in the company of performance SUVs. Off-road, the DMO platform features three electronic differential locks and a dedicated low-range mode that provides exceptional torque for dune climbing. The DiSus-P suspension can increase ground clearance to 310 mm, ensuring the underbody remains clear of obstacles during rocky wadi runs.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring a high-output air conditioning system and ventilated seating to combat 45°C temperatures. A premium 18-speaker Devialet audio system and acoustic glass provide a quiet sanctuary from road noise during long trans-emirate trips. The interior is rounded out by a central refrigerator and multiple high-definition screens for a truly modern executive feel.

Safety

The Leopard 5 comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are essential for navigating multi-lane Gulf highways. A 360-degree camera system with a 'transparent chassis' view provides vital visibility when navigating tight urban parking or technical off-road trails. The vehicle's structure is reinforced by BYD’s Blade Battery integration, which enhances rigid protection in the event of a collision.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants Land Cruiser capability with supercar pace and a modern tech suite, this zero-km ULTRA trim is the most complete hybrid off-roader currently available in the market.
