Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is a compelling choice for UAE buyers seeking a rugged, full-size SUV that balances premium luxury with long-distance efficiency. Finished in a high-demand Black that ensures strong resale value in the GCC, this VIP trim features a six-seat layout with second-row captain chairs, making it ideal for families. Its hybrid range-extender powertrain eliminates the range anxiety typical of pure EVs, perfect for cross-emirate highway runs. The ROX 01 stands out in the growing premium Chinese segment for its Italian-influenced design and genuine off-road hardware. With established service partnerships in both the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ownership is practical and well-supported across the region.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

While average annual mileage for a premium SUV in the GCC typically sits between 20,000 and 25,000 km, this 2026 model represents a near-new opportunity. Its black exterior finish is a significant advantage in the local market, as it remains one of the most liquid colors for resale. Choosing a 2026 model ensures you are benefiting from the latest firmware updates and improved thermal management systems essential for high-heat GCC operations.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is a major step up from the 7-seat standard models, specifically tailored for the GCC's preference for executive comfort. It replaces the second-row bench with high-end captain chairs featuring dedicated heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Additionally, the VIP trim adds the 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and double-glazed acoustic glass throughout the cabin, significantly reducing road noise during high-speed highway travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

ROX 01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 leads rivals like the Li Auto L8 and Tank 500 Hi4-T in pure off-road readiness, offering a 700 mm wading depth that is superior for seasonal wadi crossings. While the Li Auto L9 is its closest tech competitor, the ROX 01 offers a more rugged aesthetic inspired by classic off-roaders while maintaining a comparable 235 km pure electric range. Its 70-liter fuel tank provides a significant total range advantage for long desert drives compared to smaller-tank plug-in hybrids.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this hybrid powertrain is approximately 8.5L to 9.5L/100km on high-speed GCC highways, a remarkably efficient figure for a 2.6-ton vehicle. Service support is strong, with authorized centers like SwissAuto in the UAE and specialized facilities in Riyadh providing comprehensive maintenance. Resale value for the ROX 01 is currently following the trend of premium Chinese EREVs, which generally see slightly higher initial depreciation than Japanese mainstays but offer significantly more equipment for the initial price point.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor setup delivers a combined 470 hp and 740 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.5 seconds, which is exceptional for overtaking on the E11 highway. The 1.5L engine acts exclusively as a generator, keeping the high-voltage battery charged without the mechanical stress of direct drive. With a 205 mm ground clearance and selectable terrain modes for snow and sand, this SUV is built to handle weekend excursions to the dunes or mountains as easily as it handles city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The six-seat VIP configuration is a masterclass in passenger comfort, featuring Nappa leather and a three-zone climate control system designed to combat 45°C+ summer peaks. Every row benefits from dedicated air vents, and the front two rows are equipped with ventilation and massage functions standard on this trim. A factory-installed refrigerator and two panoramic sunroofs enhance the sense of space and luxury for all occupants during long road trips.

Safety

Standard safety tech on the VIP trim includes a full ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring, which are crucial for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. The vehicle is equipped with a 360° high-definition camera system and a transparent chassis view to help avoid obstacles in tight parking or off-road situations. Multiple airbags and a high-strength aluminum-steel hybrid body provide robust passive protection for all six passengers.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the ideal choice for a tech-focused family who needs Range Rover-level luxury and off-road capability without the traditional fuel costs or range anxiety of a pure EV.
