2017 Hyundai Sonata: now with more tech

2017 Hyundai Sonata’s are almost here! And just before they arrive, the South Korean manufacturer has unveiled how much the vehicle will cost in base trim and have also announced all of the latest features to be installed.

On the outside, 2017 models are equipped with automatic emergency braking, smart cruise control, dynamic bending lights, lane departure assist, high beam assist, rear parking assist and blind spot detection mirrors.

And it doesn’t stop there. Cruise control, Bluetooth pairing and a tyre pressure sensor come as standard and a multitude of exclusive safety features. 7-airbags, brake assist, ABS & EBD, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System and body-colored exterior power mirrors.

Inside, the options list grows and now includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric parking brake, 8-inch display with a pre-installed navigation system and hands-free boot open assist for heavy loads when shopping.

In the United States, it holds a price tag of $21,600 or AED 79,340 which is $150 cheaper than current models which comes as a welcome shock.

Future customers can choose from three engine choices; a 2.4-litre four cylinder rated at 185 horsepower, one 1.6-litre turbocharged inline four with an output of 178 horsepower and sitting at the top is a 2.0-litre turbocharged GDI engine rated at 245 horsepower and mated to a six-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission. All three engine options power the front wheels.
