2017 Suzuki Swift spied

Not one but two trim levels of the Suzuki Swift have been caught twisting their way through the European countryside. Both completely covered in annoying black and white swirls which leads us to believe Suzuki have been hard at work creating an enhanced rival to challenge the Ford Fiesta, Kia Rio and Volkswagen Polo, both of which are being updated in 2017 trim.

Evidently what’s new are softer curves all around the vehicle and a sloping roof aiming towards the rear end. A new face appears to be attached as well with new headlight casings. These are paired with new rear lights and rim designs on offer. Sport models receive all this plus a little extra, including larger air intakes and enlarged rear spoiler plus their very own set of unique rims.

2017 Swift Sport models are destined to debut later this year at the Paris Motor Show, and we can only presume that the standard model will line up alongside. The Japanese hatchback hasn’t been given a price tag or an official release date.

Rumour mills currently peg the Sport version to pack a 1.4-litre four cylinder petrol engine powering the front wheels with minor tweaks to provide additional power (estimated at 140). Suzuki is also said to be working on the chassis and excess weight to create a better package.

Standard models are said to be powered by a four-cylinder petrol motor with an unknown displacement in the Gulf. European countries are set to receive a 1-litre three-cylinder on top of an inline four.

Looking for a nimble Japanese hatchback, we’ve got used Suzuki Swift for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
