Final first-generation 2016 Porsche Panamera rolls out

As we are all anxiously waiting for the second generation of Porsche Panamera models to roll out early next year (2017) in the GCC, the last 2016 Porsche Panamera rolled off the production line only a few days ago.

Rolling off in a shade of Blue, this example and all the others were built in Leipzig, Germany. It was one of three models that were built at the facility, with both the Porsche Cayenne and ultra-rare Porsche Carrera GT being the two others. Production of the 2017 model will take place in the same plant which is said to be underway already.

Rewind to 2009, where the first Panamera left the factory and up until 2016 over 160,500 luxury sedan’s was built. Although they are immensely popular here, over 50% of those vehicles found homes in China and the US. Available in a handful of trims all with various engines and options, those with deep enough pockets craved the cooled seats, fine luxury trim, navigation, adjsutable sports exhaust system and other features.

2017 models will include all that and more, as the interior is all new and inspired by the current 911 models. The sports sedan will also feature a completely digital dashboard fitted with a manual rev counter and a revamped four seat setup for ultimate luxury. Powering the upcoming four door is a choice between 2.9-litre V6 or a 4.0-litre V8 motor both with petrol power. The V8 can aslo be had with diesel power if thats to your liking.
