Mercedes-AMG GT concepts drops by Geneva

We’ve all seen and heard of the Mercedes-AMG GT four-door concept that’s been rumoured to hit the streets and rival the Porsche Panamera. We’ve only seen renderings of the four-door sports car, that is until the Geneva Motor Show currently taking palce in Switzerland.

A single 4-litre petrol motor is found underneath the bonnet with a little something extra for increased power. Hiding underneath its thick skin is a hybrid powertrain. When combined, the two generate a monumental 800 horsepower!

Numbers like that put the Mercedes-AMG GT four-door ahead of their closest rival, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid with 671 horsepower on tap. Porsche’s model is able to hit 100 km/h in a mere 3 seconds rivalling that of any two-door sports car.

Even though this is a concept, Mercedes are planning on building a model for consumers. At the same time, the German manufacturer also announced that the world would feast their eyes on the AMG hypercar later this year in Frankfurt.

Obviously, there are a few minor modifications that have to made as the concept has no visible wing mirrors with high-tech cameras taking their place on either side.

Additionally, carbon ceramic brakes are visible on each corner with some sort of kinetic recovery system, adaptive aerodynamics and a revolutionary set of daytime running lights with nano-active fibre.

Mercedes hasn’t specified when exactly this model will launch, but until we get solid confirmation, we’ve got new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and used Mercedes-Benz AMG GT for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
