Mercedes-AMG Project One to be unveiled in Frankfurt

Ever since the Mercedes-AMG Project one was announced, we’ve been anticipating when we’ll see the legendary hypercar. We’ve been treated to single outlines, and that’s about it.

It appears we aren’t the only one pestering Mercedes for a debut date as we’ll see the Mercedes-AMG Project One debut in Frankfurt.

Unlike other powerful hypercars, Mercedes-AMG Project One’s will ship with a turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 motor with the aid of hybrid technology borrowed from their Formula One team. Of course, it’s been tweaked for road use and will spit out a whopping 1,020 horsepower.

Contributing to that number is not only petrol, but four individual hybrid motors with two mounted to each of the front tyres, one mounted to the electric turbocharger and the fourth and final unit mounted on the crankshaft.

It’s also expected to run at least 48 km on electric power alone.

Sources claim that between 250 to 275 units of Project One are to be built with supposedly 225 of those already accounted for. One example is said to cost around $2.3 million or AED 8.45 million.

Some of those customers who have pre-ordered the hypercar have reportedly already seen the Mercedes-AMG Project one.

Rumours around the market here in the UAE has at least two showrooms have pre-booked theirs!

Once the Frankfurt Motor Show kicks off later this year, we’ll have more information about the Mercedes-AMG Project One.
