Saudi Prince already owns a 2018 Bugatti Chiron

Although the official launch of the 2018 Bugatti Chiron is still happening next year and that’s when you will get the vehicle if you put a down payment on one. However, someone incredibly lucky out there already owns not one Chiron but essentially two models of the illustrious hypercar.

Prince Bader bin Saud bin Mohammed Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has reportedly splashed at least 5 million USD on purchasing a Bugatti Chiron show car that was on display earlier in the year at the Geneva Motor Show and the Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicle from the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.  The Saudi prince has an estimated net worth of 21 Billion USD.

Even though both exquisite examples are fitted with the massive 8.0-litre quad turbocharged W16 engine, performance numbers aren’t known about the two models. We do know that the base Chiron isn’t ready to hit the road just yet and is much rather a work of art to be displayed.

Previous to the purchase, both models were confirmed to go on display side by side at the upcoming and Pebbles Beach Concours d’Elegance together. At the time of writing, it’s not clear if the examples to be displayed will be the ones owned by the Prince or if Bugatti has spare models lying around.

News also broke out recently that the French manufacturer has no plans to cut the roof off of the radical beast. There is hope for an enhanced version with plenty more power, though!
