Summary

This 2016 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is the definitive choice for GCC motorists who require a vehicle that commands respect on the road and dominates in the desert. While the mileage reflects the long-distance highway lifestyle common in the region, this model is highly valued for its legendary V8 durability and mechanical simplicity. Finished in White, it occupies the most desirable color category for heat reflection and high resale value across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As a GCC spec model, it features a cooling system and radiator designed specifically to handle extreme summer peaks. For anyone needing genuine 8-seat capacity and cross-border reliability, this Patrol remains the benchmark for regional ownership.

This Car vs Other 2016 Nissan Patrols

With 198,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is average for a 2016 model in the GCC, where annual driving typically reaches 25,000 km due to inter-emirate travel. The White exterior is the strongest resale color in the local market, ensuring it remains highly liquid compared to darker alternatives. Its mechanical condition is a key advantage, as these V8 powertrains are engineered for high-mileage longevity in desert climates.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim elevates the Patrol from a rugged workhorse to a luxury cruiser, adding features highly prized by GCC buyers such as ventilated front seats and a 360-degree Around View Monitor. It also includes the rear-seat entertainment system and a premium Bose audio suite, which are essential for family comfort on long highway drives. Unlike the base SE, this trim features the 'City Bumper' for a more sophisticated urban presence and upgraded 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels.

Nissan Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Patrol offers a wider cabin and a more car-like ride quality on paved highways thanks to its independent rear suspension. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank provides a significant range advantage for long desert expeditions and cross-border trips where fuel stations may be sparse. Additionally, the Patrol generally offers more third-row legroom, making it the preferred choice for large families in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

The Nissan Patrol retains some of the highest residual values in the GCC, typically holding 70-75% of its value after three years. Fuel consumption averages approximately 15.8 L/100km, reflecting its role as a heavy-duty V8 designed for torque rather than economy. Maintenance is straightforward, with service intervals every 10,000 km and an authorized service network that is among the most extensive in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman. Parts availability is excellent, keeping long-term repair costs lower than European luxury SUV rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 5.6-litre V8 produces 317 hp and 521 Nm of torque, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed highways like the E11. It features a genuine low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes (Sand, Rock, Snow, On-road) that allow it to navigate the steepest dunes of the Empty Quarter. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, it is also perfectly suited for hauling boats or trailers to the coast for the weekend.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful multi-zone air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows. The Platinum City trim adds ventilated front chairs that are a necessity during summer months, alongside premium quilted leather upholstery. Double-glazing and thick insulation ensure the cabin remains quiet and cool even during high-speed highway cruising in 45°C temperatures.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and a 360-degree camera system that makes parking this large SUV in tight city spaces significantly easier. Standard driver aids include Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Warning, which are particularly useful on multi-lane GCC highways. Stability control and Brake Assist are tuned to handle both high-speed tarmac and loose sand surfaces with equal precision.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking a bulletproof, GCC-optimized family SUV that holds its value better than almost anything else on the road, this White V8 Patrol is a secure and practical investment.
