Summary

This 2019 Nissan Patrol Super Safari is a standout choice in the GCC market, combining the legendary 'VTC' 4.8L powertrain with the most premium trim level available for the Y61 generation. With 117,000 km, this 7-year-old SUV has been driven approximately 16,700 km per year, which is significantly below the typical GCC average for this model type. The Gold exterior is a classic choice for the region, offering better heat reflection than darker tones and maintaining a high resale desirability among local enthusiasts. For a GCC buyer, this model represents the perfect bridge between a weekend desert beast and a robust daily workhorse that is famously easy to service across the entire region. The Super Safari trim adds the critical creature comforts needed for the local climate, ensuring you don't have to sacrifice luxury for durability.

This Car vs Other 2019 Patrols

At 117,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is notably lower than the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typically seen in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, making it a mechanically fresh example of a 7-year-old vehicle. The Gold finish is not just a style choice; it is one of the most practical colors for the GCC, hiding desert dust well and supporting strong value retention in the used market. Unlike many 2019 models that may have been heavily modified for off-roading, this GCC-spec Super Safari maintains the sought-after factory balance of comfort and capability.

SUPER SAFARI vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari trim represents the top-tier Y61 experience, adding critical features over the standard Safari and GL trims that are highly valued in the GCC. It includes a factory-fitted cool box in the center console for summer drinks, premium tan leather upholstery, and an electric sunroof that is often missing from base models. Furthermore, the Super Safari comes standard with a rear differential lock and the distinctive 17-inch alloy wheels, providing a superior off-road foundation compared to the basic GL's steel or lower-spec wheels.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol Super Safari competes directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series and the Jeep Wrangler, but it leads the segment in long-distance touring comfort thanks to its coil-spring suspension. Its massive 175-litre total fuel capacity (including the sub-tank) provides a cruising range that few rivals can match, a vital advantage for cross-border trips between GCC nations. The 4.8L inline-six engine is also widely considered more mechanically approachable for local garages than the complex modern turbocharged V6s found in newer competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.8L VTC engine typically averages around 17.2 L/100km, reflecting its high-displacement nature in GCC traffic conditions. However, parts availability is among the best in the region, with authorized Nissan service centers and affordable aftermarket components available in every major city from Dubai to Riyadh. The Super Safari trim specifically enjoys some of the lowest depreciation rates in the UAE market, often retaining over 65% of its value after three years due to its cult status among local off-roaders.

Performance & Capability

The 280 hp 4.8L engine delivers 451 Nm of torque, providing the low-end grunt required for effortless dune climbing and heavy towing. Its robust body-on-frame construction is paired with a selectable 4WD system and a dedicated low-range transfer case for serious technical terrain. On the highway, the linear power delivery of the inline-six makes for smooth overtaking, while the 215mm ground clearance ensures you can navigate deep sand or rocky wadis with total confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Super Safari accommodates 7 passengers with a versatile layout featuring tan leather seats that are easy to maintain despite desert sand. The climate control system is specifically engineered for the 45°C+ GCC summers, featuring powerful rear cooling vents that ensure all three rows stay comfortable. Tech highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and a rearview camera, making the large SUV surprisingly manageable in tight city parking spots.

Safety

Safety is handled by a robust suite of features including dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The Super Safari's standard cruise control is a significant aid for long desert highway drives, while the high seating position and large glass area provide excellent visibility in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The inclusion of a factory-installed fire extinguisher and tire pressure monitoring system adds an extra layer of security for remote desert excursions.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a well-maintained, lower-mileage Super Safari in a practical GCC color, perfect for the enthusiast who wants the 'VTC' legend without the usual high-mileage wear. It is the ultimate turnkey solution for someone seeking a reliable desert-ready SUV that holds its value better than almost anything else on the road.
