Summary

This 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 First Edition is a compelling modern classic, offering the exclusive P300 First Edition specification that blends rugged heritage with contemporary tech. While the mileage reflects its active three-year life in the GCC, these Ingenium-powered units are built for high-utility highway use and maintain exceptional mechanical integrity when properly serviced. The Eiger Grey exterior is a premier resale color in the UAE market, ensuring strong value retention compared to more niche shades. As a five-seat SUV with legendary 4x4 hardware, it remains the benchmark for buyers who need a vehicle that can transition from a professional Dubai commute to a Liwa desert weekend without compromise. Ownership in the region is supported by a robust authorized service network, making this highly specified First Edition a secure long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2023 Defender 110s

With 120,964 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, yet this often indicates a life of consistent highway cruising between emirates rather than taxing city stop-start wear. The First Edition trim was a limited-run launch specification, meaning it carries a higher density of factory-fitted options than a standard 2023 model with similar mileage. The Grey exterior is highly coveted in the local used market for its ability to hide desert dust while maintaining a premium executive appearance.

FIRST EDITION P300 vs Lower Trims

The First Edition P300 significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the standard S and SE trims by including the Front Center Console Refrigerator—a necessity for the GCC summer—and the premium Meridian Sound System. It also adds technical off-road depth with Terrain Response 2 and Configurable Terrain Response as standard equipment, features that are often expensive standalone options on lower trims. You also benefit from First Edition exclusive branding and a sliding panoramic roof that brightens the cabin significantly.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

Against the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Defender 110 offers a more refined unibody ride quality while matching them for pure off-road geometry. Its 90-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long-distance cross-border drives compared to many mid-sized luxury crossovers. The interior Pivi Pro infotainment system is notably more intuitive and responsive than the interfaces found in older Lexus LX models from the same era.

Running Costs & Resale

The P300 powertrain offers a balanced fuel consumption profile for the GCC, averaging approximately 10.1L/100km on combined cycles, though highway cruising at 120 km/h is its efficiency sweet spot. Service intervals are typically set at 16,000 km or 12 months, and with Land Rover's extensive authorized presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, maintenance is straightforward. The Defender 110 currently enjoys some of the highest residual values in the luxury 4x4 segment, typically retaining more value at the 3-year mark than its European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a punchy 296 hp and 400 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.4 seconds, which is more than adequate for confident overtaking on the E11. When the pavement ends, the Electronic Air Suspension can raise the vehicle to provide a maximum ground clearance of 291 mm, allowing it to clear obstacles that would stop most family SUVs. The dedicated Sand mode is specifically tuned for the soft dunes of the Arabian Peninsula, managing torque delivery to maintain vital momentum.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the First Edition features a premium five-seat layout with 12-way power-adjustable heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The multi-zone climate control is engineered for extreme heat, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers remain cool during July afternoons. Cabin refinement is excellent, with high-quality insulation keeping wind noise to a minimum even at highway speeds, while the built-in refrigerator keeps drinks chilled for long family road trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this First Edition includes a 360-degree Surround Camera with ClearSight Ground View, which is invaluable for both tight mall parking and navigating rocky terrain. The suite of active aids features Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Assist, providing a safety net for fast-moving highway traffic. It also carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, supported by six airbags and a high-strength aluminum monocoque that provides a rigid protective cell for all occupants.

The bottom line

This Defender 110 First Edition is the ideal choice for a buyer seeking a highly-optioned, iconic 4x4 that has already survived the steepest part of its depreciation curve. It represents a rare opportunity to own a limited-spec launch edition that is mechanically ready for its next 100,000 km of GCC adventure.
