Summary

This 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 HSE P400 represents a highly sought-after configuration in the GCC market, combining the robust seven-seat layout with the refined P400 mild-hybrid powertrain. Finished in white, the region's most resilient resale color, it offers a distinct advantage for local buyers prioritizing value retention. The P400 engine delivers the ideal balance of highway overtaking power and desert-ready torque that the entry-level four-cylinder models lack. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for extreme summer temperatures, ensuring both mechanical durability and passenger comfort. This listing is particularly compelling for families who need genuine three-row versatility without sacrificing the legendary off-road capability the Defender is known for.

This Car vs Other 2023 Defender 110s

With 83,500 km on the odometer over three years, this vehicle reflects the typical high-mileage usage patterns of the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes between emirates are standard. While higher than global averages, this is considered average for the UAE market, indicating the car has been used as a reliable daily driver rather than a weekend toy. The white exterior is the optimal choice for the region, offering the best heat reflection and the highest demand in the secondary market.

HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim sits significantly above the base S and SE variants, adding essential GCC luxuries such as 14-way heated and cooled Windsor leather memory seats and the superior 700W Meridian Surround Sound System. Mechanically, the P400 powertrain introduces 48V mild-hybrid technology and an electric supercharger for smoother power delivery compared to the P300. It also features the larger 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen as standard, providing a more modern cabin experience than the smaller displays found in early entry-level models.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 or the Ford Bronco, the Defender 110 offers a more sophisticated unibody construction that results in superior on-road refinement and high-speed highway stability. It leads the segment in water wading capability, with a verified 900 mm depth that surpasses the Land Cruiser, making it exceptionally safe during heavy seasonal rains. Furthermore, its air suspension provides a variable ride height that luxury-leaning competitors often lack in their standard configurations.

Running Costs & Resale

The P400 mild-hybrid engine averages approximately 9.9 L/100km in combined cycles, though GCC city traffic will see this rise toward 13 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 20,000 km, and Land Rover’s extensive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures easy maintenance access. The Defender 110 currently enjoys some of the strongest value retention in the premium SUV segment, typically depreciating at a slower rate than German rivals like the BMW X5 or Mercedes-Benz GLE.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre twin-charged six-cylinder engine produces 395 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0–100 km/h sprint of just 6.1 seconds. This power is managed by a sophisticated 8-speed automatic and a two-speed transfer case for low-range crawling. With a maximum ground clearance of 290 mm via the electronic air suspension, it effortlessly navigates deep sand dunes and rocky wadis alike.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seat configuration is tailored for large families, featuring a cabin that is heavily insulated against the desert heat. The HSE trim includes ventilated front seats and a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during 45°C+ summers. The interior materials are designed for durability, using a mix of Windsor leather and robust textiles that are easy to clean after weekend desert trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a full suite of ADAS features including Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and a 3D Surround Camera that is invaluable for navigating tight parking in Dubai or Riyadh. The Adaptive Cruise Control and Rear Traffic Monitor provide extra confidence during long desert highway hauls. Standard Wade Sensing technology provides real-time depth data, ensuring safe passage through standing water or wadi crossings.

The bottom line

This Defender 110 HSE is the perfect match for a GCC buyer who needs a premium family vehicle that is equally capable of school runs in the city and weekend expeditions in the desert.
