2019 Dodge Challenger sparks next generation

Eight years ago, the Dodge Challenger was reborn and remained relatively unchanged over the time frame. While Chevy and Ford continuously nipped and tucked their pony cars of the years to keep them both fresh in the eyes of the consumers. Of course, Dodge did mildly change various aspects most notably the interior.

Roll on 2019 model trims and that’s all about to change both inside and out. Not much is known about the upcoming versions. However, new Challengers are to use the same platform as the desirable Alfa Romeo Giulia, which will provide a smaller package and would bring overall weight down offering enhanced handling and better performance.

Out of the three big American powerhouses, Dodge is the last one to implement a four-cylinder engine into its muscle car. Both Chevrolet and Ford have proudly and successfully launched Camaro’s and Mustang’s with smaller engines, Dodge should consider doing the same to keep in check with the ever changing trends of the modern era.

Reports suggest that upgraded versions of the V6 and V8 engines will power the rear wheels with various outputs once again, and of course, the bonkers Hellcat remains and is said to have 750 horses instead of the measly 707 it pumps out now.

Next-gen Challengers and Hellcats are set to roll out in late 2018 as 2019 models. No price is known at the time of writing.
