Ford reveal 2018 Expedition

Moving forward with an all-new high strength aluminium body, Ford has revealed their range-topping SUV, the 2018 Expedition with a lighter body, additional options plus an all-new look.

Up to 136 kilos has been shed from the mighty SUV thanks a mixture of lightweight aluminium bonded with high-strength steel to make up the vehicle’s underpinnings.

Inside, Ford has retained the eight seat setup with both the last and middle rows being able to fold flat to accommodate large items. Plus there are all of the comfort options, 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup, Panoramic sunroof, six USB charging slots and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrated into the multimedia system.

The beefy V8 is replaced by the brands token 3.5-litre EcoBoost that seems to find a home in every Ford model coming out including the Ford GT, F-150 and Raptor.

Every model to roll out is fitted with a 10-speed automatic gearbox powering all four wheels and a revamped terrain management system with a multitude of options. Eco for increased fuel economy, Sand for low traction terrains including sand, Gravel for slippery surfaces, Sport for an extra kick and Tow for greater power while towing quads or a boat.

2018 Expedition models are set to go on sale later this year with an unknown starting price and three trims on offer. XLT will serve as entry level with Limited wedged in between the range-topping Platinum trim. An XL variant is on the table with added length to serve those in law enforcement, emergency services and potential buyers looking for a dash of luxury.

Ford are ready to pack your 2018 Expedition with the latest and greatest technology including lane keep assist, collision avoidance system, blind spot detection, a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control.
