Jaguar Land Rover want more SVR models!

Jaguar Land Rover’s performance division has only been around for a few years but has already made a  huge impact in the SUV market and soon the sports car market. Recent reports claim that the British manufacturer has realised it’s true potential and wants to expand the lineup by 2020.

John Edwards, managing director of SVO, exclaims that one SVR tagged vehicle will roll out of the factory every year up till 2020. And with the firm opening up a $26 million technical centre specifically for the division, firmly supports the director.

Since 2014, Special Vehicle Operations or SVO for short have put together the powerful Range Rover Sport SVR, which can lap the Nurburgring in just over 8 minutes, the upcoming Jaguar F-Type SVR, Range Rover SVAutobiography, F-Type Project 7 and the gorgeous Jaguar E-Type Lightweight continuation series of which only six are to build.

What models the division could tune next is not known, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any rumours floating around. SVR badges could be added the XE, XF and F-Pace models from Jaguar and possibly the Evoque model from Land Rover if it’s not killed off by then.

Just in case anyone is reading this and is unsure of what SVO does to the vehicles, much like Nismo, TRD, R-Line and R-Design, the company takes a stock car, tunes the engine, takes out heavy components and adds a touch of flair for a unique touch.
