Is Porsche working on an X6 rival?

As spy shots continue to roll out around the internet, a rather peculiar model has popped up. What appears to be a Porsche Cayenne borrowing body panels from the Panamera to create a “coupe” style body.

With the upcoming model currently being tested, it’s painting a massive X on the rear bumper of the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the recently announced Range Rover Sport Coupe.

This upcoming Cayenne is set to roll out of the factory a year or so after standard Cayenne models launch. No price tag is confirmed for the X6 rival.

It’s not just a few body panels that the “coupe” variant shares with SUV versions, identical powertrains are to power all four wheels. Either a V8 or V6 are the options of choice.

A new car launch wouldn’t be complete without a rumour or two as various sources are claiming that the “coupe” could ride on a fully electric drivetrain with possible tech similar to the soon to be revealed Audi Q6 E-Tron to rival the Tesla Model X instead.

Now we know what you may be thinking, is Porsche really looking to expand their crossover range? Two reasons first is that this segment of the car industry is immensely popular and continues to grow as the years go by. Secondly, the German brand confirmed not too long ago that they would like to enter this field.
