• 140-litre fuel tank standard
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2019 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City represents the top tier of the Y62 generation, offering a premium experience that remains a benchmark for the region. While its mileage reflects the typical long-distance highway use common in the GCC, the naturally aspirated V8 is renowned for its million-kilometer durability. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common white and silver, yet it retains strong resale appeal due to the high-demand Platinum trim. Compared to its rivals, the Patrol offers a superior balance of on-road refinement and desert-conquering hardware. For a buyer in the Emirates or Saudi Arabia, the sheer scale of the Nissan service network ensures stress-free ownership for years to come.

This Car vs Other 2019 Patrols

With 173,000 km over 7 years, this vehicle has been driven approximately 24,700 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the higher annual averages expected for full-size SUVs in the GCC. While many 2019 models on the market are the V6 variant, this LE trim features the more desirable 400 hp V8 that local buyers prioritize for highway overtaking and sand performance. The Blue metallic finish is a premium choice that stands out in a market dominated by neutral tones, often fetching a quicker sale among private buyers.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim is the ultimate expression of the Patrol, adding 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a more sophisticated chrome-accented exterior compared to the LE Titanium. Inside, it upgrades the experience with premium quilted leather, a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor with moving object detection. It also includes the Rear Seat Entertainment system with dual screens, an essential feature for family road trips that lower trims often lack.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol's primary rival is the Toyota Land Cruiser; however, the Nissan offers a significantly more comfortable independent rear suspension that provides a smoother ride on the E11 and E311 highways. Its 140-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in the segment, offering superior range for cross-border travel compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition. Furthermore, the Patrol’s Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system gives it a cornering stability that many body-on-frame competitors cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The Nissan Patrol enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in the GCC, typically retaining a high percentage of its value even after five years of use. Fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 averages around 14.5 L/100km, a figure that is well-understood by local owners who value power over economy. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and with authorized centers like Arabian Automobiles and Al Masaood widely available across the UAE, parts are affordable and always in stock. This high availability of expert technicians helps the Patrol maintain a higher resale floor than its European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 5.6-litre V8 produces 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 6.6 seconds—impressive for a vehicle of this size. It features a sophisticated All-Mode 4WD system with dedicated settings for Sand, Snow, and Rock, supported by a low-range transfer case and an electronic locking rear differential. Whether you are navigating the high dunes of the Empty Quarter or cruising at 140 km/h on the highway, the Patrol feels planted and infinitely capable. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control system acts as both a stabilizer on-road and a travel-enhancer off-road.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true 8-seater with a genuine adult-sized third row and dedicated climate control vents for every passenger, which is vital during the peak of the GCC summer. The front seats are both heated and ventilated, and the center console features a built-in 'Cool Box' refrigerator that can hold multiple beverages. High-quality materials and acoustic glass ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary, isolating passengers from outside heat and wind noise during long drives between emirates.

Safety

The Platinum City trim is equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, including Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Brake Assist, and Lane Departure Warning. It features 360-degree cameras that make parking this large SUV in tight mall spaces much easier, alongside Blind Spot Warning for safe highway lane changes. A total of six airbags and a reinforced high-strength cabin provide peace of mind for the whole family, while the traction control systems are specifically calibrated to handle the unique challenges of gravel and soft sand surfaces.

The bottom line

This Patrol is the ideal choice for a GCC family or enthusiast who wants the maximum luxury and power the Y62 platform offers. It is a proven, high-spec workhorse that holds its value exceptionally well in the local market.
