Summary

This 2024 Land Rover Defender 110 HSE P400 is a premier example of the modern off-road icon, balancing heavy-duty capability with refined executive comfort. With 34,000 km, the mileage is well within the expected range for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance highway cruising is standard. The P400 powertrain offers the ideal middle ground for the region, providing 400 hp for effortless overtaking on the E11 and serious low-end torque for weekend desert exploration. Finished in black, the most sought-after resale color in the UAE, this Defender is a strategic purchase that holds its value exceptionally well. It serves as the ultimate all-rounder for a buyer who requires a vehicle that transitions seamlessly from a corporate presence to a cross-border adventure.

This Car vs Other 2024 Defender 110s

At 34,000 km, this two-year-old Defender has been driven roughly 17,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower usage means less wear on the suspension components and interior surfaces, offering a clear mechanical advantage over higher-mileage examples. The black-on-black configuration is a high-demand spec in the local market, ensuring faster resale and stronger value retention compared to less conventional colors.

HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim represents a major leap in luxury over the standard S or SE models, adding essential GCC features like ventilated (cooled) front seats and the upgraded 700W Meridian Surround Sound system. While lower trims often use the P300 four-cylinder engine, the P400 utilizes a 3.0L six-cylinder mild-hybrid setup that delivers 104 more horsepower, providing the necessary muscle for sand driving and towing. It also steps up to 20-inch wheels and premium Windsor leather, creating a much more upscale cabin environment.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 or Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Defender 110 offers a superior balance of on-road handling and off-road technology. Its unibody construction provides a far more composed highway ride than the body-on-frame G-Wagon, while its 900 mm wading depth exceeds the Land Cruiser’s capability. The Pivi Pro infotainment system is also widely considered the most intuitive and fastest-responding in the luxury 4x4 segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The P400 mild-hybrid engine averages approximately 11.5 L/100km, which is efficient for a 400 hp SUV, particularly during highway cruising between emirates. Land Rover has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with standard service intervals every 13,000 km or 12 months. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant price premium over imported North American or European models and benefits from a local warranty that is recognized across the region.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h time of just 5.8 seconds, this SUV offers performance that rivals many sports sedans, making short work of highway merges. Off-road, the Terrain Response 2 system automatically adjusts the All Wheel Drive and locking differentials to handle everything from the soft dunes of Liwa to the rocky wadis of Hatta. The adjustable air suspension allows for a maximum ground clearance of 290 mm, providing clear advantages when navigating deep sand or obstacles.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is specifically tailored for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful multi-zone air conditioning system and 12-way heated and cooled memory seats that remain comfortable even in 45°C summers. The HSE trim includes a sliding panoramic roof and premium ambient lighting, creating an airy, luxurious feel for all five passengers. Deep insulation ensures the interior remains quiet and cool, even during high-speed desert highway runs.

Safety

This Defender comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Blind Spot Assist, which is vital for the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic of Dubai and Riyadh. It also features a 3D Surround Camera with Wade Sensing, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control for relaxed long-distance travel. The vehicle's high-strength aluminum architecture and multiple airbags provide a robust safety foundation that earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a 2024 model with the high-output P400 engine and the right luxury options, this low-mileage HSE is the most balanced and market-resilient choice available today.
