Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol Super Safari represents the final iteration of the legendary Y61 generation, a vehicle that commands respect across the GCC for its unmatched desert endurance. With mileage well under the typical 25,000 km annual average for the region, this specific example offers a rare opportunity to own a near-new mechanical icon. The 'Other' color adds a level of distinctiveness to a vehicle usually seen in white, while maintaining the strong resale profile that Japanese off-roaders enjoy in the local market. For the buyer who values bulletproof reliability over modern complexity, this 4.8L 'VTC' engine provides the perfect balance of power and simplicity. It is, without question, the definitive choice for long-distance desert exploration and heavy-duty utility in the Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

With just 36,375 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the 50,000 km typical for a one-year-old car in the UAE or Saudi Arabia. While most modern Patrols are the Y62 generation, this Y61 Super Safari is a choice for the enthusiast who prioritizes mechanical toughness over soft-road tech. Its condition reflects a year of light use, positioning it as a top-tier option for those looking to avoid the initial depreciation of a brand-new unit while keeping the factory-fresh feel.

SUPER SAFARI vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari is the top-tier Y61 trim, adding essential GCC luxuries that the base Safari and GL models lack. It features premium leather-trimmed seats, a power sunroof, and a wood-grain interior finish that elevates the cabin experience for long hauls between cities. Crucially, it includes the rear differential lock and the dual-tank system as standard, features that are highly sought after by local buyers for desert expeditions.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol Super Safari competes directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series and the Jeep Wrangler, yet it leads the segment in long-distance highway comfort and interior space for seven passengers. Unlike the more agricultural LC70, the Super Safari offers a more refined cabin and a smoother automatic transmission that makes it a viable daily driver. Its 4.8L inline-six is widely regarded in the GCC as one of the most durable engines ever produced, offering better heat management than turbocharged rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 17.2 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though the dual-tank system provides a significant cruising range for long desert trips. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by a massive network of authorized Nissan centers across every major city in the UAE, KSA, and Oman. The Y61 Super Safari holds its value exceptionally well, often depreciating at only 8–10% annually due to its cult status and high demand in the pre-owned market.

Performance & Capability

The 4.8L TB48 engine delivers 280 hp and 451 Nm of torque, optimized for the high-torque demands of deep sand driving. It features a heavy-duty body-on-frame construction and a part-time 4WD system with a low-range transfer case that can conquer the most challenging dunes in Liwa or the Empty Quarter. With 215 mm of ground clearance and a maximum speed of 190 km/h, it is as capable on the open highway as it is off the beaten path.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to combat the intense GCC summer with a powerful air conditioning system and dedicated rear cooling vents for all three rows. It comfortably seats seven adults, making it a favorite for large families who enjoy weekend camping trips. The interior features acoustic glass to reduce wind noise during high-speed highway cruising and a cooled center console to keep beverages cold during long desert drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) to maintain stability on loose sand and gravel. Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) is standard, providing essential alerts during the high-heat conditions common on GCC highways. The reinforced steel ladder chassis provides a robust safety cell, ensuring peace of mind for both urban commuting and rugged off-road use.

The bottom line

For the GCC enthusiast who demands a 'zero-compromise' off-roader with low mileage and a legendary pedigree, this 2024 Super Safari is the most reliable investment available today.
