Summary

This 1-year-old Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, combining the legendary presence of the Y63 generation with a highly efficient 3.8L V6 powertrain. As the range-topping trim for the V6 engine, it offers a level of cabin luxury and technology that rivals significantly more expensive European SUVs while maintaining the body-on-frame durability the region demands. The Black exterior is one of the strongest resale colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring this remains a sound financial asset as well as a premier family vehicle. For the GCC buyer, the Patrol remains the gold standard for blending high-speed desert highway comfort with the robust cooling performance needed for extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2025 Patrols

With 56,842 km over 1 years of use, this Patrol reflects the typical high-mileage highway use common in the GCC, where long commutes between emirates or across borders are the norm. While the mileage is slightly higher than a global average, for a Japanese-engineered SUV in this region, it represents a vehicle that has been reliably run-in on well-maintained desert highways. The Black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local used market, offering better resale liquidity than niche colors.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City trim adds critical premium features that GCC buyers value at resale, including the 20-inch machined alloy wheels and the iconic puddle lamp system. Inside, it upgrades the experience with quilted leather massage seats, a Head-Up Display, and ventilated front seats—essential for local summers. It also includes the 3D Around View Monitor and biometric cooling, features not found on the SE Titanium or T2 variants.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Against the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the 2025 Patrol leads with a superior 8-seat configuration and a more technologically advanced cabin featuring twin 14.3-inch monolith screens. While the Land Cruiser is often cross-shopped for its resale, the Patrol SE Platinum City offers a plusher on-road ride and more standard luxury equipment for the same investment. It also provides a longer wheelbase, resulting in noticeably better legroom in the second and third rows for larger families.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 is a smart choice for the GCC, balancing the power needed for highway overtaking with more reasonable fuel consumption than the previous V8 generation, averaging approximately 10.3 L/100km on combined cycles. Maintenance is supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East, with major centers available from Dubai to Riyadh. Historically, the Patrol retains approximately 85-90% of its value after the first three years in the UAE market, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 3.8L V6 produces a robust 316 hp and 386 Nm of torque, allowing this full-size SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 7.8 seconds. This performance is paired with a sophisticated 9-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth shifts during long-distance GCC highway cruises. For weekend adventures, the selectable four-wheel-drive system and rear differential lock provide the necessary hardware for confident sand dune driving and desert overlanding.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is specifically engineered for the Gulf climate, featuring a high-capacity tri-zone climate control system and dedicated cooling vents for all three rows. This 8-seater layout includes power-folding third-row seats that can be operated from the cargo area, making the transition between passengers and gear seamless. Premium acoustic glass and active noise cancellation ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary even at high cruising speeds across open desert terrain.

Safety

This trim is equipped with Nissan's ProPILOT suite, providing adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance that are invaluable for long drives on the E11 or highways across Saudi Arabia. Standard safety includes 360-degree cameras with 3D viewing, blind-spot intervention, and forward collision warning with emergency braking. Passive safety is equally strong, featuring a comprehensive airbag system that protects passengers in all three rows.

The bottom line

For the executive family seeking a 2025 model year icon without the twin-turbo premium, this SE Platinum City offers the perfect balance of top-tier luxury, 8-seat practicality, and high resale confidence in the GCC market.
