Summary

This 2025 Nissan Patrol represents the first year of the all-new Y63 generation, making it a high-demand entry in the GCC market. As an SE Platinum City trim, it offers the peak of luxury for the naturally aspirated V6 powertrain, finished in a resale-strong black exterior. With 40,000 km, the mileage is slightly above the regional average for a one-year-old vehicle but is typical for a family workhorse used for interstate commutes. The Y63's shift to a more tech-focused cabin helps it compete directly with newer luxury rivals while maintaining the legendary reliability that GCC owners expect. This is a pragmatic choice for buyers who want the prestige of the new body style with a proven, efficient engine.

This Car vs Other 2025 Patrols

With 40,000 km on the clock, this Patrol has been actively driven across the Emirates, reflecting the high-mileage highway lifestyle common in the GCC. While many 2025 models are still in their delivery phase, this example offers a significant saving over showroom prices while remaining under the manufacturer's regional warranty. The black exterior is a premier resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring it will hold its value better than more niche launch colors.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City is the range-topping variant for the 3.8L V6 engine, significantly upgrading the experience over the Titanium trim. It introduces Burgundy quilted leather upholstery, front massage seats with 4-way lumbar support, and a sophisticated Head-up Display. You also get the advanced Biometric Cooling system, which uses infrared sensors to detect passenger body temperature and adjust airflow automatically—a critical feature for the intense GCC summer.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in terms of interior digital real estate and ride plushness, particularly with its revised independent suspension. Its 98-litre fuel tank provides a massive range for long desert highway runs between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. Compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Patrol offers a more sophisticated 4WD system with dedicated terrain modes tailored specifically for soft sand.

Running Costs & Resale

The new 3.8L V6 is designed for better efficiency than the outgoing V8, averaging approximately 9.5 km/L in mixed GCC conditions. Nissan's authorized service network is among the most extensive in the region, with centers available in every major city from Kuwait to Muscat. The Patrol historically retains roughly 60-70% of its value after three years in the local market, benefiting from high demand for GCC-spec models.

Performance & Capability

The naturally aspirated 3.8L V6 produces a steady 316 hp, providing smooth power delivery suited for high-speed highway cruising and daily urban commutes. The new 9-speed automatic transmission improves response times and fuel economy over the previous generation's 7-speed unit. With 253 mm of ground clearance and a selectable Four-Wheel Drive system, it remains highly capable for weekend excursions into the dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a major leap forward, featuring a 7-seat layout with premium materials and multi-color ambient lighting. The SE Platinum City trim is optimized for the desert climate with ventilated front seats and a powerful AC system with dedicated rear vents for all rows. Acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from wind noise during fast highway drives, creating a quiet environment for the whole family.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a full ADAS suite, including Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Lane Intervention. The 3D Around View Monitor is particularly useful for parking this large SUV in tight urban spaces, while Blind Spot Warning provides essential safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Standard features also include a comprehensive airbag system and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity to own the latest Y63 generation in its most luxurious V6 configuration, offering a perfect balance of modern tech and long-term GCC reliability.
