Lamborghini to add a third model

Currently, Lamborghini has two ultra-quick not to mention gorgeous sports cars, the Huracan and Aventador for those who may not know. But that’s not much of a selection now is it? Lamborghini appears to be in the same mind frame and is looking to add a third model to their already impressive line-up.

It may be a bit unfair to say that Lamborghini has only two models available with four+ variants of the Huracan, the SV version of the Aventador. Sure they technically are “separate” models with different characteristics and the Lamborgini Centenario is almost here, this new model will slot in between the V10 Huracan and the beastly Aventador.

Lamborgini did have a future car in the pipelines, the Lamborghini Asterion, which was ultimately scrapped for unknown reasons. But it’s said some of its features could make it into this model such as the hybrid powertrain. Also thrown into the mix is a 2+2 setup which hasn’t appeared in any Lamborghini since the Jarama or Espada. If it does follow a four seater set up, it could utilise the same platform as the upcoming 2017 Porsche Panamera.

Unfortunately, not much is known about this “mid-level” sports car as nothing has been revealed. That includes engine specs, 0-100 km/h time, top speed and what it will be called. Rumours have already started and pinpointed the moniker as Miura, which seems unlikely as Lamborghini has never re-hashed an old name and put it into production.
