Summary

This 2015 Toyota Prado 60th Anniversary Edition is a premier choice for GCC buyers seeking a balance of luxury and legendary durability. With mileage significantly below the regional average for its age, it represents a well-preserved example of one of the market's best value-retaining SUVs. The 4.0L V6 engine provides the necessary power for confident highway overtaking and desert excursions, far outclassing the entry-level 4-cylinder variants. Finished in a practical grey that handles the desert dust and sun well, it offers the ultimate peace of mind for family road trips across the Emirates. Its GCC specification ensures the cooling systems and interior materials are purpose-built for the extreme local climate.

This Car vs Other 2015 Prados

At roughly 91,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 10,000 km per year, which is less than half the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. This low usage translates to significantly less wear on the suspension and cooling components compared to most 2015 models on the market. The grey exterior is a highly resilient choice for the region, showing less dust than black while maintaining better resale appeal than non-neutral shades.

60TH vs Lower Trims

The 60th Anniversary Edition adds exclusive branding and a refined feature set over the standard TXL and GXR trims. It typically includes premium touches such as anniversary-badged floor mats, unique interior trim accents, and enhanced infotainment options that are highly sought after by local buyers. Unlike base trims, this version ensures a more sophisticated cabin environment without sacrificing the rugged mechanical simplicity the Prado is known for.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads rivals like the Mitsubishi Pajero and Ford Explorer in terms of long-term mechanical reliability and resale value in the Middle East. Its body-on-frame construction provides superior durability for weekend off-roading compared to the unibody Explorer. Additionally, the Prado's 87-litre fuel tank offers a greater cruising range for long desert highway stretches than many smaller crossovers in the mid-size segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is remarkably reliable with service intervals typically every 10,000 km at any Toyota authorized center, which are abundant across all GCC countries. Fuel consumption averages approximately 10.8 L/100km on combined cycles, though stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh may see higher figures. The Prado holds its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating at only 8–10% annually, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the UAE used market.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine delivers a smooth, torque-rich experience that makes highway cruising effortless even when fully loaded with seven passengers. Its full-time all-wheel-drive system and 220 mm ground clearance allow it to handle everything from loose gravel tracks to moderately challenging dunes with ease. The 5-speed automatic transmission is geared for durability, providing reliable performance during high-temperature summer drives between Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for large families, the three-row layout comfortably seats seven and features a powerful air conditioning system specifically tuned for the 50°C GCC summers. Rear occupants benefit from dedicated climate vents, ensuring the entire cabin stays cool even during peak afternoon heat. The interior materials are selected for their ability to withstand high UV exposure, maintaining a premium feel throughout the vehicle's lifespan.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes multiple airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to maintain traction on sand-slicked roads. It also features electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, providing crucial support during emergency stops on fast-moving highways. The robust ladder-frame chassis adds an extra layer of passive safety, a characteristic highly valued by family-oriented buyers in the region.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking the gold standard in GCC reliability with lower-than-average mileage, this 60th Anniversary Prado is a rare and highly sensible opportunity.
